What happens if equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged?
If kit is lost, stolen or damaged, notify us straight away.
Tell us immediately at support@ahs-pi.co.uk. If theft is suspected, report it to the police and obtain a crime reference number within 24 hours. Do not continue using damaged equipment—make it safe and await instructions.
Under the CPA Model Conditions 2011, the hirer is responsible for loss or damage to hired plant. Hired‑in Plant insurance is mandatory and should cover loss, theft, accidental damage and any continuing hire charges. Deposits, where taken, do not replace insurance.
We’ll assess the incident and advise next steps. For damage, we arrange inspection and provide a repair quote; for total loss or theft, we invoice for replacement value and associated costs. Hire charges may continue until settlement is agreed in line with CPA terms. Missing accessories and excessive cleaning may incur additional charges.
